Fireside Chats #7: The Mind

fireside chats

Welcome!

I’m happy to have you for this fireside chat. As the week comes to a close I have something I wish to share with you. This weeks topic is about the mind and how it shapes your reality.

So take a seat and let’s begin my dear friend.

As humans we attempt to control things that we cannot. Trying relentlessly to manipulate circumstances to which we are helpless to. There is one thing that we have control over. It is something that is truly powerful. So powerful that it can shape our realities and make the universe bend to our will. What is this power I am speaking of?

It is your mind. Your greatest ally in your life or your greatest foe. That is for you to decide. Your mind holds the key to your life. It can make a hell of heaven or a heaven of hell. It is your perception of the world that makes it so.

There are two energies that constitute the realities of the universe. Positive and negative. Those are the frequencies that the mind operates on. Only one energy at a time may dominate, determined by the thoughts that you think. Everything in your life starts with a thought.

Anything you desire in life begins with a single thought. A thought that is either nurtured and allowed to flourish or ignored until it withers away into regret.

The importance that you mind has on your world cannot be overstated. It is where you are one with the universe. The immutable laws of nature that knows only of frequency. That frequency being the nature of the thoughts that you emit into the universe.

It is your choice and your choice alone what frequency you emit. Be it positive or negative. While negativity is a lower and easier frequency to be on for the short term. It’s long term effects will only bring you down to the depths of misery. That does not serve your life.

While it may be more difficult for you to be positive within your mind. It is the only way to manifest anything that you truly desire. It is a battle in the mind to be positive. A fight that you must win in order to control your own destiny.

But let me tell you, if you do win that battle within your mind, your life will never be the same. Once a positive mindset dominates, anything becomes possible for your life. The secrets of the universe become revealed to you.

I hope that you enjoyed our chat. May today be the best day of your life and the coming day that will be better than today. Until we meet again next week I hope that your coming week is filled with joy and prosperity. Thank you for stopping by.

Thinking About Success

Does the thought of success dominate your thinking throughout the day? If you want to be successful it should. In order to be successful, you must first think of yourself as being a success. This is about developing a success oriented mindset.

Your mind is the first step in all things in life. Before anything can be achieved, you must first believe that it can be achieved. It is developing sufficient faith, confidence, courage and desire within your mind to guarantee the outcome of your endeavor. Whatever undertaking that you have in your life, success or failure will be determined within your mind.

It is the manifestation through the law of attraction that the universe may comprehend. Your thoughts hold power in the world that surrounds you. They shape your world by the perception you give events. It has been said that you can make a hell of heaven or a heaven of hell. You have been blessed with the ability to make that choice for your life.

So it is your choice whether to think about success or failure. Failure has a lower frequency of thought energy, that is why it is easier for it to overtake the mind. Success requires more energy to dominate the thoughts within the mind. So the endeavor must be worthwhile for your life.

Think about success and only success. Never allow failure to creep into your mind. No matter how dark the situation may seem. There is always a light in darkness. Always a positive in a negative. That is what being successful is all about. Making it through the down times because you are certain that you will succeed.

So develop a mindset that thinks only of success. Success must be the dominating thoughts before you may see tangible results. If you can keep your mind positive about your endeavor then you can determine the result before you begin.

Thinking Outside the Box

thinking outside the box

You’ve heard this saying a million times before, “think outside the box.” But what does it mean? The general consensus is that “thinking outside the box” means to create a new solution or invention that is outside of the conventional plane of thinking. It is the creative process in the imagination of the mind.

In reality the “box” is nothing but an illusion. There is no box. Both inside and outside of the box have had moments where inspiration and invention met. Let’s take a moment to pretend that this so called “box” exists. This will give you a better understanding of the creative process at work.

Inside of the box is where all of the ideas, concepts, theories and inventions have been brought to fruition and implemented into the world. All this can be mixed and combined in a different way to create something not previously done before. It is taking known knowledge and rearranging it into a new way of thinking. Doing this still takes sufficient imagination on the part of the individual. It is in a sense, thinking outside the box. But within the confines of what is already known.

Now let’s go outside this metaphorical box. Here is where all new discoveries previously unknown to society are brought to light. This compiles all the breakthroughs in every facet of human life. This is where genius is born. When the universe gives the finite mind power to create something new.

You see there is no actual box. In both situations creativity is able to thrive for the person with sufficient imagination. Whether something is rearranged into a new combination or something completely new is discovered. The possibilities for the creative process are endless.

So let’s ditch the “think outside the box” concept. Instead let’s build a mental awareness, keeping our minds open to all things that surround us. Allowing our imaginations to run wild with the possibilities of creating something new. You never know how your imagination may change your very life.

Writing Everyday

writing everyday

As writers we always seem to have the same question to answer. Should I be writing everyday? For some the answer is simple. For others it is a question that is constantly being pondered. Writing is a creative process. So is it beneficial to write everyday?

To me it comes down to a matter of opinion of what works best for each individual. For those who write for a living, writing everyday is a habit almost by necessity. Always having a work in progress whether it be a blog post, a novel, freelance work or anything in between. Writing becomes a way of life for those who do it full time.

For others it may be a part time job or even a hobby. Just writing for the love of writing. Writing everyday doesn’t become an absolute necessity. Writing could happen in short but less frequent bursts. Usually when inspiration hits. Other times the words may not come easily. A day to be skipped when it comes to writing.

My best advice to gauge if you should write everyday or not is to experiment. If you don’t write everyday then try doing it for a week. Set aside time each day. See how you feel about it at the end of the week. How much did you accomplish? Do you feel the quality of your writing is on par with your previous works? Did writing everyday seem to stifle your creative process? These questions should give you a few insights on whether you should write everyday or not.

For me personally, I try my best to write something everyday. Whether it be a blog post, writing my book or just brainstorming other ideas that I have. To me writing is a habit and a craft that must be continuously developed. It is a process of continual improvement day by day. Do I feel that my quality suffers sometimes because of this? Absolutely. But to me not everything can be a masterpiece. It’s impossible. For me it is about building consistency in my writing and the message that I deliver.

Do you write everyday? Do you have a set day or set time dedicated to writing?

The Love of Blogging

Let’s face it. Blogging isn’t easy. It might be easy when first starting out but that quickly fades away when you try to make your blog something great. Creating great content for your blog on a consistent basis is hard. Driving traffic to your blog and having people come back is difficult as well. There is only one solution.

You have to fall in love with blogging. Having passion for the content you create. Love is the only way you will be able to endure the hardships with blogging along the journey. As with anything in life, you must love what you do.

Blogging is an amazing way to create a positive community. Giving your readers genuine appreciation for their interactions with your blog. Treating them as if they were your close friends. Creating content that gives those readers value. Having them fall in love with your blog. Because you love your blog. It’s about never losing that love for your blog or for your community.

If you haven’t done so yet, fall in love with the process of blogging. All of it. It is a craft that must be mastered. A labor of love. Something that takes time to be built. But in the end it’s all worth it. Having built yourself an incredible blog.

Let your blog convey a message of love to your readers. That message doesn’t have to be in words, it can be felt in the overall essence of your post. So express love for your blog. You never know whose life you might change because of it.

Affirmation: I Am Grateful

gratitude

I am grateful for everything I have in my life. I am grateful for my family and friends. I am grateful to be healthy. I am grateful to be alive. I am grateful for the world I live in. I am grateful for my dreams, because I know that they will come true. I am grateful for myself, because I am a beautiful person. I am grateful for my past because it has taught me so many valuable lessons. I am grateful for the present because today is the only day that matters. I am grateful for the future, with absolute faith that it will be bright.

Express gratitude in your life for all things. It gives nourishment to the soul, joy to the heart and peace to the mind. Express gratitude first thing in the morning and before going to bed at night. Add to this affirmation if you’d like. Personalize it and make it yours.

Even in the worst of times there is something to be grateful for. You just have to search for it. So be grateful today and for the rest of your life. You will thank yourself for doing so.

Fireside Chats #6: Patience

Fireside Chats

Welcome!

I’m happy to have you for this fireside chat. As the week comes to a close I have something I wish to share with you. This week’s topic is all about patience and how it helps you achieve anything.

So take a seat and let’s begin my dear friend.

You’ve heard it countless times before, “Patience is a virtue.” It is the habit that keeps us from losing our wits when the going seems painfully slow. Progress is conceived to be at a standstill.

Unfortunately in the blazing speed of the digital world, patience is a dying breed. Things come in an instant and immediate gratification is to be expected from the masses. If anything is delayed, patience wears thin almost instantaneously. It is a sickness that plagues humanity.

As the farmer plants a seed into the earth, knowing that time will pass before a harvest can be reaped. It is the patience to nurture and believe that a seed will sprout. Never losing hope and never becoming impatient because no results are seen. So many lessons can be learned from a simple farmer.

Do you consider yourself to be a patient person? Do you deny yourself the immediate gratifications, with the belief that something more fruitful and gratifying is just beyond the horizon? Do you weather the storms with peaceful resolve, certain that the sun will shine again?

Patience is a virtue. For it is a requirement to attain anything worthwhile in life. It is the delay and the struggle that makes the taste of victory O so sweet. To not settle for anything less than the best for your life.

To develop patience, you must first practice it until it becomes a habit in your daily life. There is no other way. This is about a persistent belief that you will receive what you desire to have. Faith is an essential quality to develop patience.

Be patient with your life. Things do not happen overnight. Good times come in due time. Keep moving forward and don’t give up. Never settle just because of a loss of patience. Hold your ground and believe in yourself. With patience you can have anything you desire.

I hope you enjoyed our chat. May today be the best day of your life and the coming days that will top today. Until we meet again next week I hope that your coming week is filled with joy and prosperity. Thank you for stopping by.

Finding Your Purpose #6: Limitations

So what limitations are holding you back in finding your purpose? You’ve been searching for it but to no avail. Let me ask you this. Have you been passively searching for your purpose, waiting for it to magically appear? Or have you been searching day and night relentlessly for acquiring insights to what it might be? You see, purpose is all about your mindset.

If you truly desire to find your purpose in life it must become a borderline obsession. Never giving up the pursuit and what glorious rewards that will be waiting for you.

So what is holding you back? The answers lie within your mind. Fears, doubts and limiting beliefs often cloud the mind. It creates a fog that blinds opportunity for the sake of security.

The fear of failure is at the top. The fear of failure cripples any chance of finding your purpose. You fail in life no matter what. What makes the difference is how you react to that failure. What you learn from it and how you move on from it. Fears are but an illusion within the mind. They will always be there but you must not let them control you.

Doubts and limiting beliefs also hurt your chances in finding your purpose. If you don’t believe that you will find your purpose then you won’t You have to believe that you will find it. Don’t doubt yourself. You are powerful beyond measure and you will live a happy life.

Don’t allow limitations to stop you from finding your purpose. Understand that you are worthy. You are confident. You are awesome. Shift your mindset from I won’t to I will find my purpose in life.

This is about having the courage to move out of your comfort zone. If you’re afraid that’s fine, everyone is afraid when they try to get more out of life. The key is to feel the fear and continue to move forward. Don’t waste your true potential because of the limitations you set up in your mind. Trust me you have greatness within you.

Ramp up your efforts in finding your purpose. Be patient. When you put in the effort there will be more opportunities but remember this, not every opportunity is for you.

Crush those limiting factors within your mind that are holding you back from finding your purpose. It will open new doors for your life.

The Million Other Things Involved with Writing a Book

As you all know, I’m currently in the process of writing my first book. The title of it is Rock Bottom: Rise from the Ashes. Rejuvenate your life. After spending some time doing some research about writing and publishing a book. I realized that there is a lot more to writing a book than at first glance.

It’s not just about writing a book then calling it a day. The process is a lot more involved than that. Besides creating content, editing and formatting your finished work. That’s just the beginning.

Okay so maybe there isn’t a million different things but there is more than meets the eye. The first main point is publishing. Whether to go the traditional route or self publish your book.

Traditional publishing entails you going to a publisher or publishing house with your book. They do all of the work for you in terms of marketing, printing, etc… In return you sign a contract with that publisher, essentially giving away the rights to your book. You are paid a royalty for your book sales.

Self publishing is where you are the publisher for your book. A popular way of doing this is using Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) program. There you can upload your book for free. Amazon takes a royalty for each sale, depending on the price of your book. You keep the rights to your book.

I plan on going the self published route when I finish my book. When going the self published route, you are going to be in charge of everything else that comes with publishing a book. Mostly marketing your book.

In the digital age we live in it is crucial to have an online presence as an upcoming author. This is all about promoting your book and building a community with your readers. Having social media accounts like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to name a few. Joining groups and conversations as well as giving potential readers insights into your book.

Marketing doesn’t stop with just social media.

It also helps to start a blog. Giving your readers a place to go to learn more about you and your book. This doesn’t mean that you have to post something everyday. Once a week can be sufficient. Make your blog an extension of your book. Giving your readers value and having them fall in love with your work.

Going back to amazon, it is important that you price your book right. Price it too high and no one will buy your book. Take the time to look at the prices of other books in your genre. It is also about having the proper keyword strings for your book so that people can find your book on amazon. Creating a great book description that will entice people to buy. Creating an author page on amazon so that potential buyers can learn more about you. Getting those who read your book to write thoughtful reviews to boost visibility.

Advertising and giveaways are other avenues when it comes to promoting your book. Using Facebook ads or amazon to promote your book so that more people will see it. For giveaways, Goodreads allows you to have a giveaway for your book. It is a great way to get more people interested.

So this may not be a million things but writing a book does have a lot to it. Especially when doing a self published book.

Hopefully this does not deter you from writing that book. There are options you can have for aspects you find less appealing. Hiring a professional for your book cover or having someone write out your book description on amazon. Or any of the marketing aspect. It might cost some money but if you don’t have the time it will help you.

Happy Writing! I hope that your book becomes a bestseller!

Being a successful blogger is something that doesn’t happen overnight. If you think that you can make loads of money right away then you’re sorely mistaken. Blogging is something that must be built from the ground up.
