When Writing Flows

When Writing Flows

Writing in a way may be compared to a well oiled machine, when everything runs without a hitch the process flows smoothly. As writers there is no greater feeling than when the words just flow. A fever pitch of creativity where the hours pass at light speed. What a blessing when this occurs.

Writing is a process and that process doesn’t always involve writing. Research, brainstorming, reviewing, editing, writing from start to finish is a time consuming process. All for the hopes of having that writing flow to create a masterpiece. Writing is what etches a story for generations to read.

The flow of writing is what makes writing beautiful, showing from the depths of the soul. Stories to be told that give the imagination of the mind nourishment. Allowing for fantasies to be lived through the pages. Knowledge to be gained and the mind to be fed. The flow of writing can change the lives of the readers forever. What a beautiful event to occur.

If you have ever written before, you understand the feeling of euphoria that comes when writing flows smoothly. The feeling is almost indescribable. Knowing that a story is being built page by page, word by word.

There is no method to have this occur except to keep writing. To continuously build upon your work with the hopes that the words will come to you. More times than not they often do. It is persistence that builds something beautiful. As water slowly carves out the mountainside. The flow of water and the flow of writing are the same. To carve out this earth to create something that may echo throughout the ages.

Poetry & Creative Writing #1 Introduction

Okay this might be cheating but I found an old folder full of some of the poems I wrote years ago. I wanted to share a few of them with you. As I stated in a previous post I wanted to devote a day to just express creativity with my writing.

Here are a few of these poems:

Open Hands

Open hands I give to thee,

not to reap, nor ill words to speak.

An open heart to leave its mark,

a gentle soul to spark

To give unselfishly to brighten one’s day,

greater than all the flowers in the month of may.

For open hands I give to thee,

for the soul to seek, my heart to keep,

my eyes to peek and my mind to leap,

all to keep me from being weak and my future bleak.

The Beauty of the Journey

The dream begins within the clouds of thought,

with a shining beam it manifests into human form.

Not overnight nor within a short month,

but in the day to day struggles of a continuous cycle.

The nights are lonely and the plates are barren,

but the mind sings a different tune.

Of abundance and cheer,

Knowing that one day the dream will be real,

But we are in no hurry because the journey is zeal.

It is not the dream but the journey that makes life fruitful,

who you become, not what you accomplish is the real prize,

For a beautiful journey trumps the dream any day.

The Unknown of Love

Love is an uncontrollable influence,

you can’t force it,

nor can you truly run from it.

You can’t speed it up,

nor slow it down,

all you can do is go along for the ride.

Their is beauty,

as well as pain,

true love,

and heartbreak.

In this uncontrollable influence called love,

we must embrace the unknown,

for we know not what it may bring.

For as long as we have a glimmer of love left in our hearts,

the sun will always rise.

Because with love if it’s meant to be,

it’ll be.

I have more poems and I might share them from time to time.

Do you have any ideas for writing prompts? I would love to hear from you.

Why I Write

The main reason why I write is because inside of me there is something inside of me that truly believes that I must express and share my ideas with others. To inspire others that they can live their dreams and live a happy life of their own vision. Writing is something I never truly enjoyed until my senior year of high school where I took a creative writing class. There is where I learned the true joys of writing. With no real syllabus and the ability to allow my imagination to run wild I discovered that writing was something that gave me a sense of fulfillment.

As the years went on I lost touch with this enjoyment for others dreams and ambitions that I was chasing for my life. When I was getting ready to quit my job and take the leap to start my own company I took a week off. During that week an idea hit me. I desired to write a book. I began to write a few paragraphs here and there but it was must on the shelf because of my new business.

Fast forward to now I was searching for my passion in life. I wasn’t satisfied with where I was and wanted to find something that would make me feel alive again. One night the universe decided to hand me a gift. It was a book that I found on amazon prime reading. Find your passion: 25 questions you must ask yourself by Henri Junttila. I was intrigued so I began immediately to read it. There was one question to ask yourself and the book recommended that you write out each of your answers. About halfway through the book I rediscovered my joy for writing. I made the decision that I would find a way to make it my life’s calling.

I dug out my old book notes that I had from years before and began to organize them into what I believe would be the best way to write the story. As I write this post I am currently in the process of continuing my work on that book and plan to publish it sometime next year. I have to say that I’m loving every minute that I work on it. It is such a release of positive energy and expression for something that I truly believe in my heart.

My personal reason for starting this blog was to share my ideas and insights that I’ve learned over the years. I love the genre of self-help and it has had a major impact upon the person that I am today. I was try to write from the deepest chambers of my heart and make sure to convey my message in the best way possible. I want to spark something within my readers to make them take action in the dreams they have within their minds. Dreams that cry for their realization. Life is just too short not to live your dreams and do something that you love to do.

I will admit that I am a bit rusty in my writing but I’m happy for that. It gives me room for growth and the ability to hone in on my writing style. As well as create a sharper focus for the message I want to deliver to my readers. The essence of life is growth and when we grow that is when we feel alive.

If you are a blogger or an author reading this I would like to know your reason for why you write. The beautiful thing about life is that we all have a story to tell and I would love to hear yours.

Why Imagination Salvation?

When I decided that I wanted to start a blog I brainstormed several names for the site. I knew what I wanted to write about and the message that I wanted to convey to my readers. After a few names, one stuck and I knew that it would be the name for the blog. Imagination Salvation. It struck a chord with me.

So why Imagination Salvation? It is because I truly believe that the only limitation that we as human beings have is our imagination. Throughout the course of history time and time again the word “impossible” has been evaporated from society when an individual with imagination changed the course of human civilization. When we condition our minds with a positive mental attitude towards a purpose we feel is worthy of coming to fruition, imagination becomes the only limiting factor. We often settle for what we can conceive within our minds of what is possible for our lives based on limiting beliefs that we have set for ourselves.

Our imaginations are a blessing because they allow the finite mind to connect with a higher universal power. But as we grow up and become adults in society that imagination slowly dies. We allow reality to set in and we settle for concrete evidence of life that we can see in our physical world. It is limiting beliefs in our own minds because of external influences of society that we accepted as our realities of what is possible for us to achieve for our lives. It is a crying shame that imagination so often dies this way. Because it is a gift that we must cherish for us to live our life to its maximum potential.

We must revive that imagination that we possess in our minds. The reason being is that our imagination is an immensely powerful force. Through invisible forces it attracts to us ideas, concepts, inventions and theories that can change the course of human history. It also attracts to us everything that we see in our day to day realities and everything that will come to us in the future. We must save our imaginations by cultivating them and nourishes them because they will nourish us in return.

What if I told you that you can achieve anything in life? I mean anything. It is the truth. Your imagination is your only limit in life. Let your imagination run wild. You will live your life to its maximum potential. I believe that its possible for you. Set your goals high and don’t settle for anything less than your best.
