Question of the Week #1

Are you better off now than you were a year ago?

The purpose of this new series is to get to know yourself a bit better every week. I will give you a question to ponder. Really take some time to reflect upon the question to see if you are on the right track with your life.

I wanted to start you out easy. This week’s question is a review of your events that have occurred over the course of a year.

Are you better off now than you were a year ago?

Time seems to move at a rapid rate. Days, weeks, and months fly by in the blink of an eye. Before we know it a year has passed.

Take a few moments to reflect upon where you were at this point last year. Here are a few questions to help you get to the root of the question.

  • What majors events have you experienced?
  • What about you has changed?
  • What new people have been introduced into your life? Have they helped you or hurt you?
  • What valuable lessons have you learned in the past year?
  • Do you feel that you’ve grown in a certain area of your life? (mentally, emotionally, spiritually)
  • Are you closer to achieving your dreams or desires in life?

Take your time, this isn’t a race. The more in depth your answers the more clarity you will have about who you are. Self-reflection is essential to growth in life.

How did you do? Has this year been a year of massive improvement in all areas of your life? If so, that’s amazing and keep up the great work! Don’t stop now!

Or did you feel as though you haven’t improved at all or have actually declined over the past year? No need to worry or beat yourself up about it. The past is the past. You have reflected upon it and learned a valuable lesson. Time to move on to greater things in your future. You can start right now, this instant to begin the process of self-improvement.

It’s never too late to begin. I encourage you to begin today. A year will pass and you will be amazed at the progress you made if you stick with it.

What did you find out from answering this question? If you are comfortable sharing your thoughts I would love to hear them.
