Soon enough you’ll climb out from the depths. All that hard work for your comeback will be that much sweeter. You can now see the light, the light being the future of an awesome life.

It’s time for you to get back to ground level. From there you will already possess the necessary tools for success. Gained in the climb from the pits of rock bottom. The persistence to never give up. The faith in yourself and in your dreams. The courage to keep pushing forward.

From ground level, the sky is the limit for your life. Because if you can escape from the clutches of rock bottom. You can do anything in life.

I hope that you enjoyed this series. That you gained some valuable knowledge to help you live your best life possible. That is my sole reason why I write these posts for you.

Rock Bottom #3: The Climb Out

So last time we talked you were preparing to make a comeback for the ages. How have you been fairing in that endeavor?

Now that you’ve made the decision to comeback from rock bottom into a better life for yourself, it’s time to start the climb. Hold on tight because this is going to be a treacherous climb.

How long have you been at rock bottom? Weeks? Months? Years? Decades? The reason I ask is because the longer you’ve been down there, the longer climbing out is going to take. Don’t be discouraged about your answer. Remember that you are making a comeback for the ages. Believe that it’s possible for you.

Sometimes when you’ve been at rock bottom for an extended period of time, you have an uneasy familiarity with it. A distorted comfort of sorts. You want to get out but don’t want to put in the effort necessary. You don’t want to feel uncomfortable and go through the growth needed to get out. I’m going to tell you something. You need to get comfortable being uncomfortable if you are going to climb out of rock bottom.

When you demand more out of your life, life is going to demand more out of you. It is the balance that holds the universe in order. You’re going to have to dig deep within. There you will find strength unknown to you and potential waiting to be unleashed. So let’s begin the climb.

I will share something with you. During this climb you will experience all types of terrain. Some of it will be smooth, some will be at a gentle incline. This is just life playing a game with you. It’s a preparation of what’s to come.

Then there will be times of difficult traversing. Obstacles thrown your way. Adversities you never saw coming. Defeats that will try to make you lose your grip. This is the test of life. You must hold your ground and continue the climb up.

This is where you must harness your will. Dig deep and not allow anything to get you down. It is about persistence and determination that you deserve to have a better life. Because you do. During these tough times when you are tested remember this. It will pass. Things won’t always be this bad.

So you’ve begun the climb out of rock bottom. What an incredible feat it is! Keep going and don’t stop no matter what. Your life is valuable and you deserve to have more, do more and be more.

Rock Bottom #2: A Comeback For The Ages

So last week you were introduced to what rock bottom is. What it has done to so many lives and all of the potential swallowed in it’s depths. Now it’s time to stop the slippery slope and begin a comeback for the ages.

No one wants to be at rock bottom but sometimes its necessary to plunge into that proverbial pit to learn more about yourself. To go through that process of growth, painful as it may be, to experience the intangibles of life that is your dreams, hopes and ambitions. Its life’s way of asking you. How bad do you want it?

If you’re at rock bottom you know your fair share of adversity. You know what they say, the harder the adversity the bigger the comeback. It’s time to stop sliding down that slippery slope, get your feet of solid ground and begin the climb out of rock bottom.

This is no easy task. Life will try relentlessly to keep you down there if you allow it. This is your life and you deserve more out of it. Now is the time to make a declaration for your future!

Here are some affirmations for you to say to yourself everyday in the process of getting out of rock bottom.

  • My past no longer defines me
  • I deserve more and expect more out of my life from this point forward
  • I believe in myself. I believe in my dreams. I believe my future is going to be bright
  • I will improve myself every day. Giving my best effort each day
  • I am powerful beyond measure and life will no longer beat me down
  • I am courageous. I will do what is necessary to have a better life
  • Nothing can stop me! My willpower is too strong
  • My mind is my greatest ally. I will only focus on positivity. For that mindset shall bring me success and happiness

Say these affirmations to yourself. Say them with conviction. Put all of your emotion behind them. Believe that you will make a comeback in your life. Because you will.

Create a vision in your mind of what you want your life to look like. Focus on it and continue to think about it morning, noon, and night. Let it crystalize to the point that you see it as your reality. Make it feel real, as if you were holding a photograph in your hands. See it, hear it, touch it as if you already have it.

It’s time for your comeback. One that will echo through the ages. You can do it. I believe in you and the greatness that you have within you!

Rock Bottom #1: Introduction

It is a freefall to which mankind has had so many souls fall into its depths. Some rise out some stay there trapped for the remainder of their days. We all know its ugly name. Many of us have been there at one time or another through the journey of life.

Infinite ways of slipping down its slopes and various levels within its depths. It is a chameleon of sorts with each individual having their own perspective of this so called “monster”.

Rock bottom is defined as at the lowest limit or level possible. Meaning that you have hit your low point in life. It happens to the best of us. Life has a fickle way of beating us to our knees and kicking us when we are down. It is a cruel teacher that has no sense empathy. Cold hard truth.

All too often when life knocks you down a swell of negative emotions reaches a boiling point. The response being “why is this happening to me?” With that fear, anger, and resentment towards the cruelties that life may bring, we never truly see the answer.

Usually rock bottom hits when we have given up fighting for what we truly want in life. The “I quit” echoes throughout the far reaches of the universe. Life is just playing a game.

Too many souls to count have never been able to rise from the pits that engulf their lives. Hope seems dead and there is no escape in sight. It is a quiet desperation that is endured.

It is in these moments when we must search for a light. It’s there somewhere. Even in the darkest of times you can always find a light. It may not be much light but it beats the darkness.

Rock bottom isn’t the end of your journey in life, it is the beginning. There you will learn more about yourself than in the highest points of success. Why? Because adversity builds character. Every defeat and every failure in life brings with it a goldmine. Valuable learning experiences that develop character. As with gold you have to search for this value.

In reality rock bottom isn’t always a bad thing. It is a learning experience that can make our lives more fulfilling in the long run. With those defeats, adversities and failures along the way, the taste of success becomes that much sweeter.

Let’s not look at rock bottom or the down times in life as a tragedy. Let’s look for the value in those situations. For that may turn our lives around.

Self-Motivators

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.”

Zig Ziglar

You know the feeling when you get that initial burst of motivation, the feeling that you can conquer the world and accomplish a thousand tasks. That initial burst may last for a few days or maybe even a couple of weeks if you are lucky, but it’ll eventually dissipate.

Then the dreaded brick wall of slowing down and possibly not wanting to do what you originally set out to do. That initial motivation has long worn off and you are searching for new inspiration to keep that fire alive inside. That fire to reach that goal and to continue the journey to the end result of achieving that dream you have fixated in your mind.

That is where the application of self-motivators is essential to keep that desire inside burning white hot. A self-motivator is something that you can call upon when things seem to be going wrong or you are struggling to keep yourself moving forward. It is your “why” behind the purpose of what you are trying to achieve. It is a battle cry that will keep you going through the toughest of days.

A self-motivator can be a variety of things. A picture of a loved one, a quote, a verse, an excerpt from a piece of literature, the only factor of it is that it must have a tremendous impact upon you. Something that resonates into the deepest chambers of your soul. Take some time to find your self-motivator. It is a simple task that can reward you immensely.

Here are a few examples:

“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”

Confucius

“I can, therefore I am.”

Simone Well

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”

Thomas Edison

“If you can dream it, you can do it.”

Walt Disney

“A will finds a way.”

Orison Swett Marden

Not satisfied by what you see here or what you have found so far in your search? The best thing to do then is to create your own self-motivator. Something personalized and tailored to what you want to do for your life.

When you find that self-motivator hang it where you can see it every day and look at it whenever you need a boost of motivation to get you through the day. Before you know it, that self-motivator will pop into your mind whenever you are lacking in desire to do something.

Find that self-motivator that will be your battle cry for you to achieve whatever you want in your life! Don’t stop till you find it!

Do you have any self-motivators already in place? What are they and what do they mean to you?

The View of Adversity

Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit

Napoleon Hill

Life happens. There are ups and there are downs. It’s impossible to not have some down times throughout your life. It’s an inevitable reality. Those adversities, trials, tribulations, heartbreak and failures come in varying frequency. Some experience it more than others. But one thing is certain. It happens to all of us.

During these times, the question is often asked “why me?”. The pain from these moments often drives down to the negative spectrum of emotions. That’s because it harder to be positive when times are tough, to see the light when surrounded by darkness. By no means is this an easy task, life designed it to be this way to show you the beauty that these times may have in your life.

For it is in these down moments that we learn about ourselves more than at the heights of success. They strengthen intangible qualities of our character so that when success comes our way we have paid the price that is asked of life. Adversity is in the eye of the beholder. It is how we view adversity that determines our success.

It is a view of “how may I learn something of value from this?”. We learn more from our defeats more than our successes. During the storm it is a difficult question to ask. But it is an essential question that has to be asked of ourselves. For that value found may carry with it a seed of a greater equivalent that may propel us through the adversity we are facing.

It is a shift in focus from the negative emotions that lay siege to so many searching for the wrong answers when adversity strikes to a more positive nature. Your attention diverts your energy to the thing you are focusing on. That energy holds the power of wither a positive or negative nature. It is your choice how you use your energy when faced with a problem.

When you look for something of value from a situation or experience another shift occurs. It is a shift of a more positive energy to the adversity and with that a solution can be found. This usually happens in an unexpected way so you must keep your mind open for signs. When you search, you will be able to turn the tide. Turning a negative into a positive. Be persist and search for the answers. They will come to you.

When you come out of that tough time you will be stronger because of it. The one thing that you cannot do is give up. Giving up is never the answer. If needed seek out the help of others to aid you in solving the challenge. There are always others willing to lend a helping hand, words of advice or simply just a listening ear. But in the end others can’t do it for you, they may help but it is you alone that must weather the storm and come out on the other side.

Know that these times won’t last. The sun always shines after the darkest of nights. Just because things are good right now doesn’t mean that they can’t be better in the future. Find something of beauty in this storm for it will be your saving grace and will turn the tide of your life.

Faith In The Future

The power of prayer is a magical force. When we pray in a spirit of absolute faith we immediately use our conscious minds to deliver our message to the subconscious mind. From the subconscious our message is delivered to a higher power with a tremendous amount of energy.

You don’t have to be a religious person to experience the powerful emotion of faith. It could be faith in yourself, faith in others or faith in the dreams that you have for your life.

Once you begin to live your life as if your prayers are already answered then that faith you have will move you in the right direction to make it a reality.

Using Visualization To Your Advantage

visualization
Visualize your dream life. It’s free and will give you insight and motivation to make them a reality

As humans we are constantly processing images in our minds. A massive compilation of pictures in a seemingly endless storage within the mind. A neurological firestorm of visual people, places, and things that can be recalled at any point in our lives within a split second. The mind is truly a powerful tool.

Now with all that said you can use the powerful tool of the mind to your advantage. How? By taking a few moments to visualize the future that you want to have for your life. Take some time to think about it. What do you want you life to look like in a year? 5 years? 10 years? Really think about it.

Think about the details. What kind of car do you want? What type of house? What type of career will you be in? What type of things will you have? How will your relationships be with family and friends? Be specific. The more details the better. There is a reason for this.

As you are doing this visualization exercise already feel as if these people, events and things were already in your life. How would you feel? Begin to feel those emotions of happiness, love, faith, prosperity and gratitude. Really FEEL them. Because the more positive emotion you put into the visualization the more power it has.

That future of yours seems bright doesn’t it? That’s good! That vision that you have is important to you because it is the ideal picture of what you want your life to look like. Make sure to repeat that vision when you wake up, before bed and a several times throughout your day. Why? It is because the more you hold that vision in your mind the more real it becomes to you. That is where you can use it to your advantage.

Here are the advantages of visualizing regularly:

Clarity

The more you visualize the more clear it becomes to you. If you aren’t able to visualize everything you want in precise detail that’s okay. It may take some practice but it will develop when you constantly exercise it. Getting crystal clear clarity is essential because the universe reacts with precision.

Once you get that clear picture in your mind of what you want. The universe will begin to move these people, circumstances and things to you through nature’s laws. Once you have the clarity of vision for your life the next advantage is just as crucial.

Reinforcement of Positive Emotions

You have to have positive emotions when you visualize. When you have true positive emotions, you are emitting positive energy to the universe. That energy builds in power the more visualization is practiced. It is a meditation for your dream life. You feel incredible during the process and it shifts your state of mind into one that desires these visions.

You must truly feel as if you already possess everything that you want. Express gratitude for receiving it, allowing that joy and love to fill your heart. It is the emotions that you desire most. When you reinforce those positive emotions a shift begins to occur. Which leads you to the final advantage.

Insights to Action

When you begin to believe that you already have what you envision for your life, the universe begins to deliver on your thoughts. Especially when backed by strong, positive emotion. These “insights” often come in the form of ideas, opportunities or experiences. Be on the lookout for them. It is a sign for you to take action.

Don’t hesitate when this comes along. You’ll know if it is right. The crucial part is to take action. Begin immediately and never give up. The universe is abundant with its resources for those who know exactly what they want. You will be lead on a journey where more ideas, opportunities and experiences will come your way. The end result being you in your end destination. The vision that you would in your mind right now.

Take some time every day to visualize. For those things are what you desire most in life. Your dreams and aspirations of living your life to the fullest.

True Strength

inspirational quote

Strength is measured not when things are going your way but when things are falling apart around. Life has some tough times. It’s an inevitable part of the journey. During these down times the one thing that you cannot do is give up.

You are stronger than you think. You may not be where you want to be currently or are going through some things that are undesirable to you. You have the strength to make it through. You just have to take one more step forward.

Unwinding at The End of The Day

Relaxation

In today’s digital world we are always trying to accomplish as much as humanly possible throughout the course of the day. This often means that we usually active in some task until the moment we lay down to sleep. We go from super speed to a dead stop.

From this we may not get the best night’s sleep or may become discouraged because we may not see the progress being made towards a goal we want to achieve. That is where the importance of unwinding at the end of the day may have a tremendous benefit to us.

Now in the busy world we all don’t have a lot of spare time to be able to unwind, most of us just from sheer exhaustion from the tasks of the day. All it takes is 5-15 minutes to unwind, even if it is when you are lying in bed just before you fall asleep. The key is just taking a few moments of peaceful relaxation.

That time can be used for a reflection for the events that occurred throughout the day, whether it be put into a journal or just silently thought about within the mind. My personal opinion is to write it down. The reason being is that you can look back on it and see the progress you’ve made over a span of time. It doesn’t need to be lengthy, just a few short points is sufficient. Think about a couple things that were a positive today.

Or maybe read a book, even just a chapter a night can be beneficial. Just make sure it isn’t overly mentally simulating. Or plan out the next day in advance to be ready to go when the morning comes. Just remember once it’s finished relax and have peace of mind.

Or even just take a few moments to express gratitude for everything beautiful that life has to offer. We always have time to express gratitude for what life has given us, big or small.

I would recommend limiting the use of electronics during this time. I know the world goes a million miles per minute but that blue light emitted from the screen will hurt the chances of getting a restful night’s sleep.

What ways (if any) do you unwind at the end of the day? How does it benefit your well being? I would love to hear your responses in the comments below!
