Your life’s purpose is something that is special and unique to you. It is something that will give your life a deep sense of meaning never before experienced. That is why it is so crucial that you know exactly what you want.
We as humans tend to have to see something tangible. We must see it with our eyes or hold it in our hands. Purpose is no different in that regard. Most want to have something tangible when it comes to purpose. But when you don’t know what your purpose in life is, it’s impossible to know what’s tangible.
If you are unsure of what your purpose is in life, then you must stop searching for the tangibles. The one thing that everyone’s purpose has in common is the intangibles. The emotions and principles that must be felt within the mind, heart and soul.
So if you’re trying to find your purpose in life, you must know the exact intangibles that give purpose it’s meaning. Once you know the intangibles then you’ll know when something tangible comes along. So for now let’s focus on the emotions and principles that you want to feel. This helps you build upon the essence of purpose.
The six main emotions and principles are:
This is no surprise. Your purpose in life is something that should fill you with happiness. It is an emotion that should be deeply experienced. If you believe that you have found your purpose and you’re not happy, then you haven’t found it. It’s as simple as that.
Happiness is a decision that is made within the mind. Sometimes this decision is easy and sometimes it’s difficult. But it is a decision that must be made. Make the choice to be happy right now and find those things that make you happy. Happiness is always worth the fight.
This builds upon happiness. Love is the purest of emotions. Your purpose is something that you absolutely love. Life is too short to have it any other way. Love must be felt within the heart, so express love for all things around you.
Finding your purpose can be a chaotic affair. But once found it brings a certain peace to the mind. Instead of focusing on the chaos that entails finding your purpose, bring peace to your mind knowing that one day you’ll find it. This is all about having sufficient faith in yourself.
Weather those storms, knowing that they won’t last forever. Have the peace within knowing that you are going to live an amazing life.
Life is about growth. Constantly growing throughout the course of your life. Your purpose should keep you curious about life. Always wanting to learn something new in any aspect of life. You can never have enough knowledge about life.
Whether that curiosity be spiritual, mental, or emotional, always aim to grow and question life. Be curious about life when searching for your purpose. You never know what you may find.
Fulfillment is something that gives purpose it’s meaning. We al want that meaningful sense that fulfillment brings. This is harder to attain than the other five but it is still attainable. The key is to search for things that give your life a deep sense of fulfillment. Don’t settle in this search. Have the patience that you will find fulfillment in your life.
We as humans want to have an impact on society. The size of that impact is unimportant. What is important is helping others. It is the secret to living. It’s about having a positive influence on the world around you. How many people you effect is up to you.
Even if it’s just one person, that is contribution. Search for ways to help make a contribution to those around you. It will only benefit your life while finding your purpose.
Know these emotions and principles well, for they will be your foundation in finding your purpose. Some may be implemented into your life immediately, making your life more fruitful. In your search for finding a tangible purpose remember, that the intangibles are what gives purpose true meaning.
So what limitations are holding you back in finding your purpose? You’ve been searching for it but to no avail. Let me ask you this. Have you been passively searching for your purpose, waiting for it to magically appear? Or have you been searching day and night relentlessly for acquiring insights to what it might be? You see, purpose is all about your mindset.
If you truly desire to find your purpose in life it must become a borderline obsession. Never giving up the pursuit and what glorious rewards that will be waiting for you.
So what is holding you back? The answers lie within your mind. Fears, doubts and limiting beliefs often cloud the mind. It creates a fog that blinds opportunity for the sake of security.
The fear of failure is at the top. The fear of failure cripples any chance of finding your purpose. You fail in life no matter what. What makes the difference is how you react to that failure. What you learn from it and how you move on from it. Fears are but an illusion within the mind. They will always be there but you must not let them control you.
Doubts and limiting beliefs also hurt your chances in finding your purpose. If you don’t believe that you will find your purpose then you won’t You have to believe that you will find it. Don’t doubt yourself. You are powerful beyond measure and you will live a happy life.
Don’t allow limitations to stop you from finding your purpose. Understand that you are worthy. You are confident. You are awesome. Shift your mindset from I won’t to I will find my purpose in life.
This is about having the courage to move out of your comfort zone. If you’re afraid that’s fine, everyone is afraid when they try to get more out of life. The key is to feel the fear and continue to move forward. Don’t waste your true potential because of the limitations you set up in your mind. Trust me you have greatness within you.
Ramp up your efforts in finding your purpose. Be patient. When you put in the effort there will be more opportunities but remember this, not every opportunity is for you.
Crush those limiting factors within your mind that are holding you back from finding your purpose. It will open new doors for your life.
Inspiration is a magical force for one to experience. It transcends our state of being to a higher level. Inspiration is like a bolt of lightning during a summer storm. A blinding light that we can’t help but watch in awe. Inspiration has the same power and beauty.
As with inspiration, finding your purpose can come in a flash. A lightning bolt that strikes you in such a way that you’re certain that you’ve found your purpose in life. What a beautiful day that will be in your life.
Last week you were given the secret of living and how it could aid you in finding your purpose. Now its time to learn how to find inspiration in your everyday life. Inspiration, no matter how small it may seem may be the golden ticket you’ve been searching for.
Take a look around you. I guarantee that you can find at least 10 things that could be considered inspiration. How do you find so much inspiration in one area? Awareness. It’s about building your mental awareness of your surroundings. Keeping your mind open to everything you see, hear, touch, smell, taste and thank. Leave no possibility out of finding inspiration.
In this digital age we live in, we are so obsessed with our phones or computers that we often forget to look up and view the world around us. Go for a walk in nature, visit a new place or simply take a few moments to take in your surroundings.
Awareness is essential in finding inspiration. You don’t have to actively search for it every waking moment of your day. Just keep your mind open as you go about your day. Something that you’ve passed a thousand times could spark something in you. Because you are mentally attuned to finding inspiration.
If you are inspired by something but it turns out not to be your purpose in life, so what. Don’t fret about it. At least you are mentally aware and are finding inspiration. You are on the right track. Be patient. Having something amazing takes time. Don’t forget about the small things. The can have the biggest impact on your life.
Remember inspiration can come from anywhere. It could be a book, a billboard, a video, a tree, a stranger you pass, a picture, a painting. The possibilities are endless.
So as you continue on this journey of finding your purpose, keep a mental awareness for inspiration around you. Let today be your first day in finding that inspiration that could change your life. I wish you the best in your inspirational discoveries.
So I’m guessing you’re wondering what the secret to living is? The answer is incredibly simple. It is an answer that when practiced gives life a whole new meaning. The secret to living is giving! I’m sure that you’ve heard this phrase before. It’s nothing new. Nothing groundbreaking. But so few actually practice this “secret” on a daily basis.
So often we get caught up in our own needs and wants. This leads to immediate gratification but leaves a void. That void can only be filled with a deep sense of fulfillment in our hearts. That fulfillment comes when we give back to others.
Now I’m not saying that you need to be completely selfless. Self-care is important too. It’s about having a balance between the two.
What does giving have to do with finding your purpose? Again it’s simple. We give because it gives us an indescribable feeling in our heart. Giving back is what humanity is all about. It has transformed our species over the course of history. Giving back is encoded into our DNA. Whether it is active or lying dormant.
Before we go any further with how giving can aid in finding your purpose, there is something that needs to be stated. Giving to someone with the expectation of something in return is not giving. It’s selfishness to the highest extent. To truly give is to expect nothing in return for your kind deeds.
Giving back isn’t always in terms of money. Sure charitable donations can help those in need. It’s honorable to donate spare money if you have it. But there are so many other ways that you can give back and make a positive contribution to society. Some examples include:
Volunteer your time: Take an hour of your day and work at a food bank, spend some time at a senior citizen home or work with children
Donate food items: If you have some spare food that is still good, drop it off at a local food bank or give to someone who is homeless
Be a listening ear: Everyone has problems, sometimes all we need is for someone to listen to make us feel better
Speak kind words to others: Even if it’s a stranger, give them a genuine compliment. A kind word can turn a bad day around
Smile: If you see someone having a bad day give them a smile. A genuine smile. You never know how much that could mean to someone
All of these things can have an immeasurable impact on someone else’s life. Never underestimate the small actions. Because for someone else it may be sunshine on the dreariest of days. Take a moment and think of one way you can give back. Do some research if necessary to get some ideas.
Giving back is a major factor in purpose. No matter big or small in scale. When you give back you receive the greatest of all gifts. Love that radiates through your heart. That love you feel could provide the inspiration needed in the journey of finding your purpose.
Still searching for your purpose in life? Are you getting tired of searching and feel like giving up? Don’t give up. Finding your life’s purpose can be a tiring ordeal. You’re frustrated, disappointed and maybe even depressed from not finding it. The mysterious reason for why you’re on this earth.
Finding your purpose is not an easy endeavor. Nor should it be. Purpose is the pinnacle of life. It is something that once found, gives our life a deep sense of meaning that is unrivaled. So it may take days, weeks, months, even years to finally find it. But once it’s found all that searching will not be in vain.
There are two key principles you must understand during your time looking for your purpose. Both are of utmost importance if you are going to find it one glorious day.
You must never stop searching for your purpose in life. No matter what. Purpose makes life plentiful, beautiful, and most of all, it makes life fulfilling. Are these things that you want to experience for your life? Then you must never stop trying to find your purpose. Keep searching and don’t settle. You’ll know when you’ve found it.
You must have faith that you will find your purpose. You have to wholeheartedly believe that one day it will come. Keeping a positive mental attitude is essential during your search. If you believe that you’ll never find your purpose then you won’t. A negative mental attitude will allow the opportunity to slip right by when the time comes. Have faith in yourself. Everyday you are getting closer to finding it.
Persistence and faith are key during the search. It’s simple. Don’t give and believe with all of your heart that you will find it. You will. Be patient. The day will come.
In the meantime during your search. Help others and find a way to contribute to society that has a positive impact in your community. Find something that you would feel good doing. Trust me it will aid in the process of finding your purpose.
Next week we will go more into giving and contribution. The role that it plays in finding your purpose and what the secret to living is. Remember, don’t stop searching and believe that you will find your purpose. Stay positive along the journey and you’ll be rewarded.
So last week i touched upon what the essence of purpose was. This week I’m going to talk about what passion and purpose have in common. Knowing the similarities between the two will give you some insight on helping your find your purpose.
To put it in the simplest terms, passion and purpose are twins. Where there is one the other is close by. Passion is about doing something that you absolutely love every single minute of the day.
Passion is the fuel of finding your purpose in life. Now I know what you’re thinking. Now I have to find my passion as well? No. You don’t have to do that. All I’m saying is that loving what you do plays a major role in finding your purpose.
Let me ask you a simple question. Are you doing what you love in life right now? Your career takes up over half of your life. That’s an incredible percentage of your life. It’s a lot of time spending your limited time on this earth doing something that you don’t love. Life’s just too damn short doing anything that doesn’t excite you each morning.
Does that mean you have to quit your job right now just because you don’t like it? No but it might be time to rethink about what you want to do for a living. If your job is draining your energy, leaving you stressed and unfulfilled. You become miserable. It doesn’t matter how much money you make. If you’re miserable no amount of money in the world will make you feel happy. Maybe for a moment it will but it is a temporary sensation.
The next question is: What do you love to do?
What do you never grow tired of? What excites you with enthusiasm and curiosity to always seek new knowledge? It can be anything. Take some time and write down a list of things you love to do. It could be blogging, writing, web design, graphic design, event planning, public speaking, motivating others, helping those less fortunate, taking care of your children. These examples are just a fraction of the possibilities.
Review your list. With each item think about whether or not you could make a living doing one of those things. Don’t count anything out. Just because you can’t think of something this instant doesn’t mean it can’t work. Sometimes you have to use your imagination and think outside the box. Keep your mind open to all ideas. Anytime an idea pops into your mind, write it down.
Don’t be discouraged if nothing seems to pop out at you when first doing this. It may take some time. Stay patient and keep searching. Keep positive in knowing that you’ll find a way to find something you love. Have faith in yourself and in your abilities. Trust me you are more powerful and resourceful than you give yourself credit for.
Next week I’ll be discussing the search for finding your purpose. Until next week remember. Don’t give up and keep your mind positive. You will find your purpose one day and it will be better than your wildest dreams. Have faith and be grateful for it as if you’ve already found it.
Finding our purpose in life is one of those deep burning questions asked by humanity. What is my purpose in life? What was I put on this earth to do? These questions keep us up at night pondering our existence. A daily crusade to find the holy grail of answers. We continue to battle each day hoping to gain some insight into this mysterious question.
But to understand how to find our purpose we must get to the core. By this I mean that we must know what the essence of purpose is. By definition purpose means the reason for which something exists or is done. That can be a multitude of answers. A fingerprint of sorts because no two sets are exactly identical by nature.
Purpose has an almost infinite number of forms in the tangible world. Too many to name. What if I told you that the essence of purpose is composed of not tangible assets you can hold in your hand but intangibles? Hard to believe I know. It’s the truth though.
At its core, purpose is the composition of thoughts, emotions and energy that gives the individual a deep sense of fulfillment that permeates through every fiber. We look outwardly to find what our purpose is in life. Money, people, material possessions, or anything else we can project into the outside world.
We must look inwardly to truly find the answer of our purpose. To the intangible qualities of its composition that can’t be seen by the human eye. It is the composition of four main qualities that I’m going to share with you. Once you know what the essence of purpose is you will know where to begin your search for it.
Here are the main qualities in the essence of purpose:
1. Peace of Mind
The mind is your most powerful tool at your disposal. It can be your greatest ally or your worst enemy. That choice is yours to make because we have been gifted with the power over but one thing, our thoughts. The mind works in mysterious ways that even to this day humanity is still trying to uncover its secrets.
When you have found your purpose in life there will be a peace within your mind, a sense of calm that can’t be shaken even in the worst of storms. Your thoughts will be dominated by positive energy with absolute faith in the end result. You are certain with your path in life and continue down it regardless of the obstacles you face.
2. Love in the Heart
Love is the most powerful of human emotions. With love anything is possible. Love is something that must be felt to truly experience its beauty and splendor. Love in its true form is pure, it is unselfishly given with no thought of return.
With your purpose it is something that you love unconditionally, from the deepest chambers of your heart. It is a labor of love in the day to day process of the endeavor. That love doesn’t dissipate, doesn’t falter, it only continues to blossom as each sunrise brings about a new day.
3. Nourishment of the Soul
To understand this we must first know the essence of life. What is the essence of life? Growth. We as humans seek constant growth in our lives. Not in the terms of growing in height. That is something we can’t control. I mean growth in all areas in life. Growth in relationships, gaining new knowledge, emotional growth, spiritual growth. Growth is essential in life because when we grow we live. When growth stops, we slowly begin dying inside.
This one is simple. When you have found your purpose you will be on a continual path of growth in your life. You will strive for more out of life on a constant basis. Why? Because your soul comes alive when you are in the pursuit of growth. You get more out of each day and find value in all of life’s experiences.
Happiness is an emotion. Bliss is a state of being that is almost indescribable to the written word. Paradise is the closest word for bliss but it still doesn’t describe it enough. You know why? Because bliss is something that is intangible to the five senses we are given at birth. The only way bliss can truly be felt is when the three other factors listed above are in perfect harmony.
There is no describing this one for your purpose. All I may say is that if you have mastered the first three qualities of purpose and they are in harmony. You’ll be in bliss. How will you know? You just will. You will be certain of it without a cloud of doubt.
So now you know the essence of purpose. You now know that purpose isn’t something that can see seen by the eye or held in your hands. It’s something that is comprised of your mind, body and soul.
You have taken the first step in understanding your purpose in life. No may not know all of the answers to that burning question. That’s okay. It will come in time. The important thing is that you are on the path.
Let’s walk this path together. For everyone has a purpose. You will find yours. Don’t give up the search. I will lend a helping hand and we will find it together.
Change your mindset. Rejuvenate your imagination. Unleash your power
